Uros and Tequille - Febraury 2nd

Awake at 5.30 and on our boat to the floating uros islands at 7.  The Uros islands are man made islands that the local people built to get away from the invading spanish, they have lived there ever since. Do not worry though, they are not still living in the stone age, solar panels and tvs are squeesed into their tiny houses.

Very far from home!

The stunning South side view from Tequille

Just chillin

Joe and ed wacking out some cheesy grins to start the day.

Our tour guide Alex and Island cheif giving us a demostration of the how the island is built and what they put on the island.  He is holding a doll of his wife and himself to go in the chiefs house, look closely.

LUNDRIS - 10035

After the Uros Islands we headed to the island of Tequille, one of many amazing views of Lake Titicaca as we walk up to the main square to have some lunch and visit the local people.

The hill top resturant run by a local and his family where we had vegetable soup and fresh grilled trout for dinner.  Quite a view!

To keep us entertained, the locals put on a show for the festival de la virgin de la candelaria.

Some profile pictures I got of Joe and Ed while they weren't looking, looks like the caribbean.

Went out for dinner to get some local specialties, but first of all, 3 cusquenas must be ordered!

Me and joe fancied digging into some alpaca while ed went for the cuy, guinea pig, a picky but tasty local delicacy.

Our delicious lunch at the top of Tequile
